[ The voice message starts, but there's no voice at first, just soft breathing. Then, tentative - and quite clearly unsure: ]
You want to have a sleepover. With... me?
[ Eleven has only ever been on one sleepover, with Max, who was already her friend and therefore had a reason to want Eleven around. Ziggy is cool, though, and from everything Eleven has learned about kids it's that she herself is not cool, and therefore someone like Ziggy probably wouldn't want to do popular kid activities like sleepovers and 'hanging', whatever that means. ]
Is that such a bad thing? The whole... 'wanting to sleep over' idea?
[She's not that unpleasant to be around, is she? That people think she'd totally begrudge something she's offering up herself? Granted, she used to think sleepovers were kinda lame, but... Character growth! You love to see it!]
[ A quick assurance. Oh, this is going so very well, isn't it just. Eleven bites her lips for a moment, a gesture utterly lost on voice alone, then admits: ]
I only went. To one. Before. So... I would like that, just. Don't know the rules. I didn't think... you would want to.
[ At least she hopes so. She's probably not sick. Hopefully... Eleven doesn't want to go to the doctors. They're nice for doctors but... she doesn't like the medbay. ]
But you're cool. I thought cool kids don't have sleepovers with... people who don't fit.
[She proceeds to laugh, low and amused, head shaking.]
Seriously?
I'm one of the most uncool kids back home, El. I'm, like, negative numbers cool. So not very cool at all. I'm more like a target for all the cool kids to focus on when they're bored of the easy targets.

Why wouldn't I want to? You're not sick or something are you?
Because I'd still risk getting the flu if it means not having a boring night by myself again.
and another late late tagback
